Some bird facts are too good to leave in a field guide. This RSPB tea towel pairs illustrated Puffins with the wonderfully precise words “A circus of Puffins”, turning an everyday kitchen textile into the sort of detail a bird-aware eye keeps noticing.

A circus worth spotting

The collective noun is the pleasure here: unexpected enough to raise a smile, specific enough to feel like genuine bird knowledge. Puffins have an unmistakable profile, and paired with the collective noun they give the design exactly the kind of dry wit that rewards a closer look.

A useful place for Puffins

It is ready for ordinary kitchen jobs, from drying dishes to staying close at hand while cooking. Hung between uses, the Puffin artwork and collective noun remain part of the room.

When Puffins are the favourite

If Puffins are the bird you stop for, the collective noun gives this tea towel a particularly knowing seabird detail. It is also well judged as a gift because both the bird choice and wording are unusually specific.
